Our commitment to accessibility

Irie Mind Records is committed to making our online storefront usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We design and operate this site with the goal of meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the international standard for web accessibility.

What we’ve done

• Every product image has descriptive alt text.
• The whole site can be navigated using only a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
• A “Skip to content” link is available for screen reader and keyboard users.
• All color combinations on text and interactive elements meet a 4.5:1 contrast ratio (3:1 for large text), tested in both light and dark color modes.
• Forms have programmatic labels and clear error messages.
• The site supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or function.
• Continuous-scroll animations (such as the genre ticker) automatically stop for visitors who have prefers-reduced-motion enabled in their operating system.
• All pages use proper heading structure and ARIA landmarks so screen readers can navigate efficiently.

Standards we follow

This site targets compliance with:

• WCAG 2.1 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
• Section 508 (U.S. Federal accessibility standards)
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — Title III principles applied to commercial websites

Known limitations

We’re a small independent record store and we continuously audit the site, but a few areas may not yet fully meet our target:

• A small number of product images sourced from third-party catalog feeds may lack ideal alt text. We’re working with our catalog provider to improve this.
• Some third-party embedded content (such as payment processor widgets and social media embeds) is outside our direct control and may have its own accessibility variations.
• PDF policy documents are not yet tagged for full screen-reader compatibility. If you need any of our policies in an alternative format, please contact us — we’ll provide it within two business days.

Tools we use to test

• axe-core automated accessibility scanner (WCAG 2.1 AA ruleset)
• Manual keyboard-only navigation testing
• VoiceOver (macOS / iOS) and NVDA (Windows) screen reader testing on key flows: homepage, category browse, product detail, cart, checkout
• Browser zoom testing at 200% and 400%

• The page URL where you ran into the problem
• What you were trying to do
• What happened (or didn’t happen) instead
• Any assistive technology you were using (screen reader name and version, voice control, etc.)

Accessibility is a continuous commitment, not a one-time project. We re-audit the site after any significant change and review the full site on a regular cadence. This page is updated whenever our accessibility status changes.
